I received a number of photos from the owner. I also used Google Street View and a few photos I took myself.
Sketches
The sketch went through a number of versions before I was happy with it. There are a lot of elements that I did not include to avoid having too much going on.
Straight to the Details
Using a light tablet, I transferred the drawing onto the watercolor paper and tape the edges to keep them clean.
After painting the wash for the sky, I went immediately into the details. There's a lot of lettering and bricks, etc.,
mmmm... I think I want pizza.
Today's Progress
If I was wondering if painting a pizza place would be fun when I started this....
