This was commissioned as a gift to a friend who owns a Pilates studio. She wanted a closeup of the door with the sign along with the message "Keep Moving" which is the owner's mantra.
Sketches
My first sketch must be adjusted to make it more "warped". I like to call my drawings "tippy" but warped works too. :)
Washes
Using a light table, I transferred the drawing onto the watercolor paper and tape the edges to keep them clean.
I painted in the basic washes for the façade, door, windows and Hosta plants.
Details
This is a small piece (5x7) so it is moving along quickly. Not much more to do!
