Inspiration / Photos

This illustration will be used for the annual exhibit & sale poster!  Since it takes place in November and December, I will use a winter scene and color palette.    

Sketches

My first draft!  I plan to make a night scene with a dark blue sky and snowflakes. The windows will be yellow as if the lights are on and I may put some silhouettes of pottery in the windows.    

I painted two dark blue layers for the sky to make it look dark. Luckily the area is not too complicated and it was fairly easy to paint without incident (incident = those pesky blossoms / smutches that ruin a nice large area of color)

The bricks are dashes of color painted in layers. My first layer is a light rust.  There will be more layers of gray, red, and darker rust.
